Next Beauty Event x Lydia Millen

Saturday 19 March 2016

Wednesday I was fortunate enough to attend my first ever blogging event in London!! I received an email last week asking if I wished to attend the event as a blogger and my goodness I was blown away. As many of you would have read from previous posts, I am loving writing so much and really wish for a career in fashion journalism so my blog has really been a fantastic starting point.

Next were launching their new beauty line Make Me Beautiful which included a range of products from glittery eyeshadow quads, a selection of brushes and my personal favourite the highlighting chubby stick. Us bloggers were given the opportunity to view all the products and of course give them a test! The set up of the event was extremely aesthetically pleasing and of course very Instagramable.

So anyway, the event was held at the Ice Tank (Grape Street) and upon arrival us ladies were greeted with a cocktail which I will say helped with the nerves a bit.  Most of us ladies didn't know each other making it the perfect opportunity  to get chatting to other bloggers (I will leave links to the lovely bloggers I met). I was so surprised because I honestly believed I would struggle to talk to other people, but we weren't all beauty bloggers and quite literally from all parts of the country.

Lets talk Lydia Millen. I have been following Lydia since day one so freaked out a bit when I learned Lydia would be at the event. I cannot tell you how kind and genuine she is. Lydia gave us two tutorials, the first being a daytime look and the second being night time using a handful of the Next products and some of her own. Look one included a dewy base, liquid liner and the perfect nude lip - One of Lydia's signature looks. Lydia went through what she was doing step-by-step allowing us to ask her questions and converse in conversation. I was in awe of her. The second look was hands down my favourite. Using the Make Me Beautiful Smkoy Eyeshadow Quad and Make Me Beautiful Lipstick in Classic Red  Lydia went for the bold lip and eye which she admitted was out of her comfort zone. As Next don't currently have a foundation in the beauty line Lydia used her own, the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation for a flawless high coverage base.
