Introducing Brogan

Monday 3 August 2015

It's that time of year again where I decided to get my blog up and running again, thinking about taking it seriously this time round. Well I'm here again. Now I can't say that this time I will be any better at blogging, however it's surely worth giving it another go right?

So instead of beginning with a post describing myself in few paragraphs, in the hope I make myself sound kind of interesting, I thought I would start with a Q&A. That way I can be asked questions people wish to know about me. The questions collated are a mixture of ones asked by followers on Instagram and a few I have thrown in myself.

Lets try and keep this short and sweet...

Dream holiday destination?
To be honest I don' really know enough about other countries and cultures to want to go anywhere specific. However, top of the list is of course Paris. I still don't quite know what it is about the place. The architecture? Eiffel Tower? Fashion? or the food? Who knows.

Occupation?
Receptionist and part time tea drinker.

Do you have any siblings?
Yes. I happen to have a twin brother and my younger brother and sister are also twins. Bizarre I know. It was always interesting growing up as a twin, you wouldn't believe the amount of ridiculous myself and my twin were consistently asked when saying we were twins. The worst being 'Are you identical?'... Well, not exactly as one is a boy and the other is a girl.

What are you studying?
I am currently studying Politics at University - First year student. I don't exactly know what I want to do with my degree as of yet, as I will be studying different units when I begin my second year.

Dinner with one person, dead or alive. Who would you pick?
EASY. Audrey Hepburn. I would do anything for just 10 minutes with the woman. However if it was to be a member of my family I would chose my Great Grandad K-B. He sadly passed just before I was born and would give anything to have met him.

Favourite 'go to' everyday products?
L'Oreal Infallible foundation, Urban Decay Naked 3 palette or MAC Warm Neutrals palette, Chanel Écriture De Chanel liquid liner, Chanel Le Volume De Chanel mascara.
I wouldn't necessarily say I have a 'go to' blush or lipstick. What I reach for is dependant on what I am wearing and my mood. Although I know for certain any blush I chose will always have a hint of shimmer and any lipstick I chose will most likely be pink.

The L'Oreal foundation is only a recent purchase of mine, since seeing Youtubers such as Amelia Liana use it frequently. I purchased it hoping it would combat my oily skin, after trying both high street and high end foundations. I can honestly say it has done the trick for me. It does exactly what its says on the tin, 24 hour (long-lasting) and matte. Coverage also be built without it feeling to heavy and cakey on the skin.

Who is your inspiration?
Audrey Hepburn AGAIN. I would whole heartedly say she was my idol and it actually kills me knowing that I won't ever have the opportunity to meet her. At first it was her films that made me fall in love with her, but there is some much more to Audrey than her work. She had the kindest, most gentle soul.

Do you use apps on your photos?
I tend to use the editor on the Instagram app. But I also use Afterlight to brighten and sharpen my photos.

How do you make people interested in your account?
When I first had Instagram I admittedly did nothing but shoutouts and posted the same pictures of various MAC lipsticks I owned. Makes me cringe just thinking about that. I now realise just how annoying that must have been.
Probably a no brainer as well because people will only be interested in your account if they find your photos interesting.

If you could only have 3 make up items out of your collection what would they be?
Answering this question is a lot more harder than I initially thought and to be honest quite cruel for a girl with a problem when it comes to spending money on makeup.

1. Too Faced Bronzer wardrobe/book, purely because it does just about everything. Not only does it provide 8 varieties of bronzer, many of them double up as highlighters two of which also have subtle hues of pink.
2. MAC Warm Neutrals palette. Again I have chosen this for the same reason as the Too Faced wardrobe/book. Many looks can be produced from this palette, from day to night, to matte to shimmer. It has everything.
3. I feel as though my last item should rightly be a lipstick but as mentioned I don't have a 'go to' lipstick. So for the sake of this lets just say my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in the shade Liberté. This was my first ever Chanel lipstick and I still have it today. I stupidly never went to swatch this shade, I just knew I had to have this one particularly at the time as I was aware Gabby from Velvetgh0st had the same.

Thats it for my first post. Short and sweet as promised. I plan on posting as frequently as possible, just so long as those of you reading are lovely enough to bombard with suggestions etc. I want my posts to be as varied as possible, not them all being beauty related. But go ahead, fire away. I will be open to all suggestions.

Thank you
