Bright-Eyed & Bushy-Tailed

Being motivated is something everyone struggles with, even the most successful people. We all have our approaches and set our own goals. I myself and one of those people, unmotivated, yet confident although I guess you could call that laziness? January has been such a huge knock on the head for me, not just at university but for my social life as well. I have taken the time to push the boat out and do things I would never usually do like dancing the soles of my feet away in a club until closing time or going to the gym everyday.

I know these aren't the sorts of things that are seen to motivate you, but they really do. For me its all about being happy and I can say thats made a difference on the way I view a day or carry out a task. I have thought of the future, highlighting the sorts of things I need to sort out now rather than leaving for a few weeks or so. Massive example of that being deciding upon a dissertation topic. Instead of watching everyone tear apart books in the library finding their starting point, I decided to do the same. Not because I was bored of watching everyone do what I was supposed to be doing but because I was happy and motivated enough to do so. Simple.

Balance has also been important in getting myself motivated. Not too little or less of anything. Sleep included... I just want to have the ability to do everything, even if that is trying to cram it into one day. I start by going to university, the gym, studying then writing. It makes me feel as though I have actually been productive for once rather than going home between breaks eating and sat in front of the TV.
